Barns and exclusive-use venues

The River Barn, Poulton-le-Fylde

An exclusive-use wedding barn on the banks of the River Wyre, part of the Mains Hall estate, with five acres, walled gardens, fire pits and a tree-lined drive that does half the photographer's job on arrival. It takes 120 for the ceremony and 150 for dining and the evening, and there are eight en-suite Oak Tree Cabins reached along a festoon-lit woodland path, plus the 16th-century manor house with a honeymoon suite. From a supplier's point of view it is a dream: level load-in, sensible power, and an evening layout where the bar, dancefloor and our booth all sit within sight of each other, so nobody has to choose between a photo and their pint. The Glass House at Staining Lodge

One of the newest venues on the Fylde, sat on Staining Lodge Golf Course with wrap-around windows and open countryside behind. It seats 150 for the wedding breakfast and takes over 250 in the evening, with exclusive use from 10am to 1am, a private en-suite bridal room, and its own terrace and garden. Those glass walls are the thing we notice most: in daylight the room is flooded with natural light, and after dark the bespoke lighting takes over, which flatters every photo taken in it. Country houses and estates

Singleton Lodge Country House Hotel

A Georgian country house dating from 1702, set in five acres of parkland with a walled garden, about ten minutes from the M55 yet properly rural. It runs exclusive-use weddings with a ceremony licence, around 14 bedrooms, and suits parties of roughly 80 to 100 with in-house catering and its own dancefloor. It is an intimate house rather than a cavernous suite, which changes how the evening feels: guests stay close, conversations carry, and an audio guest book fills up fast because nobody has wandered off to a far wing. The Villa, Wrea Green

A Fylde favourite between Kirkham and Lytham, with two distinct wedding spaces: the Hall for up to 150 and the Pavilion for up to 300. That split matters more than couples realise. The Hall feels like a traditional country house wedding, while the Pavilion is a genuinely big room that swallows large evening guest lists without anyone feeling packed in, and it gives us space to set the booth away from the speakers so prints do not get abandoned on bass-shaken tables. Ribby Hall Village, Wrea Green

A 130-acre resort that has hosted more than 2,000 weddings, with suites scaling from intimate rooms up to 350, and even 660 for the biggest celebrations. The advantage is that everything is on site: accommodation, spa, and enough space that a wedding never feels squeezed in around other guests. For us the practical win is the staff, because a venue that has run thousands of weddings has an events team that meets suppliers at the door, knows the power points, and keeps the timeline honest. Blackpool hotels

The Grand Hotel Blackpool

A North Promenade landmark with proper function space and sea air outside the door. We have worked large events here, including a magic mirror night for the UK Coach Rally, and the thing we rate is how the function rooms handle numbers: wide entrances, room to breathe around the dancefloor, and staff used to big, complicated evenings. The Imperial Hotel

The grand old seafront hotel of the North Promenade, and it still carries that sense of occasion in its ballroom-scale function rooms. High ceilings do a lot of quiet work at a wedding: the room stays cool when full, the noise has somewhere to go, and photos look grander for it. Boulevard Hotel

The modern option at the South Shore end, next to the Pleasure Beach. Contemporary interiors, clean lines and newer function space, which suits couples who want a Blackpool wedding without a period look. Coastal venues

Clifton Arms Hotel, Lytham

On Lytham's West Beach, looking over the green to the estuary. Lytham weddings have their own relaxed, well-dressed character and the Clifton Arms matches it: elegant rooms, a seafront setting for photos, and the town's restaurants and bars a short walk away for guests making a weekend of it. The Venue, Cleveleys

A purpose-built function venue on the seafront at Cleveleys, a few minutes from our base in Thornton-Cleveleys. It is a flexible, blank-canvas space that dresses up however you want it, with the sea over the road for photos between courses.
