The Venue is a privately-owned, multi-award-winning bar, restaurant and function complex on the seafront at Cleveleys, established in 2000. Alongside the beachfront restaurant there are function suites for every kind of celebration: Spirit, the state-of-the-art suite hidden away downstairs, catering for up to 200 guests, and La Mezzaluna on the first floor, seating 120 with views across the coast. Birthdays, christenings and naming ceremonies, weddings and bereavement events are all held here, with party, celebration and afternoon packages available.

We know this one well. CandidCamera is five minutes away in Poulton-le-Fylde and we have worked here more than once — a 30th birthday party down in Spirit, and Michael and Tracey’s wedding, where the venue team arranged an early setup so our booth was ready and waiting long before the ceremony began.

A few things experience has taught us here. Spirit has the space for the magic mirror with its full red-carpet entrance without encroaching on the dance floor, and room for a second capture point if you would rather nobody queued. La Mezzaluna suits the selfie pod, which needs barely a corner — and the coastal light through those first-floor windows is lovely for daytime celebrations. For christenings and afternoon events, the pod or the audio guest book usually works better than a full booth: smaller footprint, no queue, and nothing that dominates the room while people are eating.

For bereavement events we are happy to bring the audio guest book on its own — a vintage telephone on a side table where guests leave the family a spoken message. No flashes, no props, nothing loud, and every recording is kept.
