The River Barn is one of the Fylde coast’s most sought-after rustic wedding venues — an oak-beamed barn on the banks of the River Wyre, just outside Poulton-le-Fylde. Dressed with cascading greenery and rustic timber, it sits within five acres of tree-lined driveway, protected woodland and walled gardens, alongside a Tudor Manor House built in 1536 with seven bedrooms including a honeymoon suite, and six luxury Oak Tree Cabins set in festoon-lit woodland. Every wedding is exclusive use.

This is our home-town venue. CandidCamera is based in Poulton-le-Fylde, minutes away, and we have worked several celebrations here — Hayley and Daniel’s wedding, the Makinson wedding, and an anniversary party in the Manor House — so we know the drive, the load-in and the team.

A few things experience has taught us. The barn’s neutral walls and oak beams take our backdrops and red-carpet entrance beautifully without fighting the rustic look, and the magic mirror’s favourite spot is along the window wall near the dance floor, so guests spill straight from the first dance onto the red carpet. The audio guest book belongs on one of the rustic tables with our glowing ‘leave a message’ sign — and if your party is staying in the cabins, those recordings are quite something over the breakfast hampers next morning. For photography, the walled gardens, the woodland and the tree-lined drive give us portraits from every angle, with the 1536 Manor House as a backdrop.

It is also one of the best venues on the Fylde for aerial film. The riverside setting sits in clear airspace, so drone coverage of the barn, the Wyre and the woodland canopy needs no special permissions — just fair weather.
