Turning 90 deserves a proper celebration, and Derek's 90th at Urmston Sports Club was exactly that. We were delighted to bring our Magic Mirror along on 4 September 2026, and it was a pleasure to be part of such a special milestone.
If you are searching for magic mirror hire at Urmston Sports Club, or planning an adult birthday in the area, here is how the night went.
Why Urmston Sports Club Works for an Adult Birthday
Urmston Sports Club is a versatile hall venue that suits everything from intimate birthday gatherings to larger weddings and corporate functions. Its spacious function rooms give you plenty of freedom to arrange the space around the guests, the food, the music and, in our case, a Magic Mirror.
For a 90th birthday, room to move matters. Guests of all ages can mingle comfortably, and there was enough space for our setup to sit in its own area without blocking anyone's evening. If you are looking at Birthday (Adult) events at Urmston Sports Club, the layout is a real advantage.
The Magic Mirror Experience
We provided our Magic Mirror, a full-length interactive mirror that guides guests through their photos with animations and on-screen prompts. It is a lovely option for a birthday because it appeals to every generation in the room. Younger guests love the novelty, while others enjoy being led through the fun step by step.
The Magic Mirror comfortably accommodates four or more people, so family groups could squeeze in together. That was ideal for a celebration where relatives gathered to mark Derek's big day.
Red Carpet and Silver Stanchions
We rolled out the red carpet and set up ropes and silver stanchions around the mirror. It gave the whole thing a proper VIP feel, which felt fitting for a 90th. Guests stepped up like they were arriving at a premiere.
Props, Prints and Bespoke Design
Our fun prop box got plenty of use, and a friendly attendant was on hand throughout to help guests get the most from the mirror. Every photo could be printed, with one print per person for groups of up to four, and we created a bespoke print design for the occasion so the keepsakes felt personal to Derek's celebration.
Guests also received their pictures by SMS, and a download link with high quality digital copies means everyone can revisit the night whenever they like.
Roaming Photographer Service
Alongside the mirror, our roaming photographer spent two hours moving around the room capturing candid moments. These are the shots people do not always know are being taken, like a laugh across the table or a hug between generations. They sit nicely alongside the more playful mirror photos.

191 Photos to Look Back On
By the end of the night, the gallery held 191 photos. You can browse them all in the Derek's 90th gallery. It is a brilliant mix of smiles, silliness and family moments, and exactly the sort of thing a milestone birthday should be remembered by.
