Wyre Civic Centre sits on Breck Road in the middle of Poulton-le-Fylde, an exquisite mock tudor style building set in its own grounds. Run by Wyre Council, it is licensed for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships Monday to Saturday, with a dedicated function coordinator looking after the day. It is a quieter, more formal setting than a hotel wedding — and for a lot of couples in the Fylde, it is where the marrying actually happens.

There are two ceremony rooms. The Council Chamber caters for up to 80 people and is the larger of the pair; the Members Lounge is perfect for parties of up to 60. Both are comfortable rather than cavernous, which tends to mean a guest list of people you genuinely know. The grounds outside are where the photographs happen — the council's own description is stunning grounds available for photographs, with the mock tudor frontage as your backdrop.

One thing worth planning around: the Civic Centre is available for the ceremony only. There are no facilities for receptions or evening functions on site, so almost every couple moves on somewhere else for the afternoon and evening. The ceremony room also has its own rules — nothing to eat or drink in there for an hour beforehand or during, and proceedings must be non-religious.

Practically, the Civic Centre is one of the easiest addresses in the borough to work with. There is ample free parking right outside, and it is a five minute walk from Poulton train station, so load-in is straightforward for us and getting there is straightforward for your guests. We are £5M public liability insured, PAT-tested and rated 5.0 on Google, and we will send certificates and a risk assessment straight to the coordinator whenever they are wanted.
