The Inn on the Wharf sits on Manchester Road in Burnley, right beside the Leeds & Liverpool Canal — a canalside inn with an upstairs function room that has its own bar, and the towpath and the water directly outside the door.

We've worked a full-day celebration here — nearly four hundred photographs from one February day — so we know the upstairs room, the run of the stairs, and how a party sounds in this building when it gets going.

Upstairs, the mirror sets along the wall clear of the bar run with the red carpet leading to it. Everything we bring breaks down to carryable pieces, so the stairs are our problem, not yours, and it's all glowing before your first guest arrives. The canalside gives portraits and group shots real character without anyone leaving the party for more than ten minutes, and for daytime dos the compact selfie pod suits the room better than the mirror. The audio guest book — a vintage telephone on a side table — collects the messages your guests would never say out loud, and you keep every recording.
