Poulton-le-Fylde Golf Club sits at The Eagles on Breck Road, about a mile and a half from our own front door. Of all the venues we cover across Lancashire and the North West, this is the closest one to home — same town, same postcode district, a few minutes' drive rather than a trip up the motorway. What we can offer is the thing a local supplier is actually for: we know these roads, we know how the weather comes in off the coast, and on the day of your function we are minutes away.

The club describes itself as the friendliest on the Fylde Coast, and its calendar backs that up. Captain's Day runs from the afternoon straight through to half past eleven at night, with live music, a BBQ, bouncy castles, putting competitions, raffles and charity auctions. The Family Charity Golf Day goes from one o'clock until late. New for 2026/27 they added a Charity Race Night alongside the Captain's Drive-In. These are proper long days that start outdoors in the sun and end indoors with the music up, and that shape is worth planning around.

For an evening at the club, the magic mirror is the centrepiece. It wants a ten-foot by eight-foot footprint against a wall, an eight-foot ceiling and a single plug socket, and it comes with a red carpet, rope barriers, a props table and a friendly attendant who stays with it all night. Four hours from the moment the food clears will comfortably cover the part of the evening people actually remember. Where the room is doing double duty, with a bar at one end and dancing at the other, our selfie pods are the easier fit — a five-foot square and no more, tucked in near the bar where a queue forms naturally anyway. The digital pod sends photos straight to phones; the print pod hands everyone something to take home, which makes it the obvious choice for a presentation night.

The quieter option is the audio guest book: a vintage telephone on any side table, needing no power at all on the night. Guests pick it up, hear a short message from you, and leave one back. On a captain's night or a milestone birthday it collects the things nobody would ever say into a microphone, and you keep every recording.

Because so much of the club's calendar happens outside, event photography and drone film earn their keep here in a way they do not at every venue. The nine-hole parkland course gives a photographer range that no function room can, and the club sits roughly eight to nine kilometres from Blackpool Airport, comfortably outside its zone, so aerial work over the course is genuinely straightforward. We are CAA-licensed and fully insured, we launch from clear ground and never fly over people, and we still check the day's airspace notices before every flight. If the weather refuses to cooperate, the drone element is refunded in full.
