Fylde Rugby Football Club sits at the Woodlands Memorial Ground on Blackpool Road in Ansdell, and it is one of the most flexible celebration venues on this stretch of the Fylde coast. Five function rooms under one roof means the club can hold a 36-seat private dinner or a night for 216 seated, and everything in between — birthdays, wedding receptions, fundraising balls, conferences and matchday hospitality.

We are CandidCamera, based half an hour up the coast in Poulton-le-Fylde, and we have been part of three celebrations at the club: a wedding in April 2024 where our magic mirror took 506 photographs across the night, a party that September, and another celebration in July 2025. We know the building, we know how the rooms fill, and we know exactly where our kit belongs in each of them.

The Woodlands Suite is the big room — 180 in the main space, 140 once a dance floor goes in, and up to 216 seated when the adjoining lounge is used. The dance-floor end is the natural home for the magic mirror, and because the suite's private bar has its own lounge that doubles as the entrance and buffet area, it makes a superb arrivals position for a photographer catching guests as they come in.

Downstairs and across the club there are options for quieter events too. The Bill Beaumont Bar takes 100 seated with panoramic views over the grounds, and the Malcolm Phillips Lounge can be hired alongside it — the ideal quiet room for our audio guest book, a vintage telephone where guests leave a spoken message away from the music. The International Room and the Woodlands Lounge suit our compact selfie pods, which need barely a five-foot square and never dominate a room where people are mostly talking.

Practically, the club is a joy to work at. There is extensive free car parking, every first-floor room is reached by lift and ramp so nothing is carried up stairs, the catering is in-house, and each hired room comes with its own dedicated staff member for the day. We arrive around 90 minutes early, an attendant stays with the mirror all night, and delivery, setup, packdown, unlimited visits, a props box and your online gallery are all included. We carry £5M public liability insurance and everything we bring is PAT-tested.
