Beeston Manor is a family-run wedding venue on Quaker Brook Lane at Hoghton, between Preston and Blackburn — a former farm restored by the Bickerstaffe family from 1985, its ceremony and reception rooms built around a historic sandstone barn, and given over to one wedding at a time. Ceremonies run in the Oakland Room or outdoors, the wedding breakfast in the Woodland Room, with the Garden Room, the Bar Lounge and The Nest bridal lounge in between. Thirteen en-suite bedrooms in the manor keep the wedding party under one roof, and the five Meadows suites — each with a private hot tub — arrived in March 2026.

We've worked a full wedding day at Beeston Manor, so we already know how the place carries a celebration: the long golden afternoon, and the point in the evening when the Woodland Room becomes a dance floor.

That's where the mirror earns its place — along a wall near the dance floor, red carpet leading to it, set for the room in full swing rather than as it looks at lunchtime. The Bar Lounge is the natural home of the audio guest book, a vintage telephone collecting the messages that never get said on a microphone. For the intimate midweek weddings the manor offers, the selfie pod suits better than the mirror — a five-foot square that never dominates a quiet room.
