53two is Manchester's railway-arch theatre — an independent arts charity in Arch 19 on Watson Street, off Deansgate, with a 120-seat theatre and cinema space that takes 150 standing for live music, parties and dinners. Alongside its programme of new writing and comedy, the arches hire out for weddings, corporate events and celebrations, with every hire supporting the charity's work.

We've worked under these arches — an event in 2024 that ran to hundreds of photographs beneath the brick — so we know what candlelight and Victorian brickwork do for a party.

The mirror photographs nowhere better than against a lit railway arch, set clear of the bar run with the red carpet leading in; the compact selfie pod suits seated dinners until the tables clear; and the audio guest book collects the messages nobody says on a microphone — at a venue full of performers, they're good ones. A venue built for theatre knows lighting, and we work with the house rig, not against it.
