Selfie Pod Hire at the 1 LANCS Summer Ball, Weeton Barracks

What a night it was at Weeton Barracks in Preston. We were proud to be part of the 1 LANCS Summer Ball on 18th July 2026, bringing our Selfie Pod along for what turned out to be a fantastic corporate event.

The Venue: Weeton Barracks, Preston

Weeton Barracks is a venue that really does rise to the occasion for large-scale events. With spacious grounds and flexible function spaces, it handles a big corporate gathering like the 1 LANCS Summer Ball with ease. There's a sense of occasion to the place that sets the tone perfectly for a formal military summer ball.

It's the kind of venue where the atmosphere does a lot of the heavy lifting, and our job was simply to add to the fun. A Selfie Pod fits right into that kind of setting, giving guests something interactive and memorable without getting in the way of the event's more formal elements.

What We Provided on the Night

We set up our Selfie Pod with a full suite of extras to make sure guests had everything they needed for a great experience. No backdrop was required, meaning the Pod sat naturally in the space, and no props were needed either, though we did bring along a fun prop box for those who wanted to have a bit of a laugh.

The unlimited visits were a real highlight. At an event like a summer ball, guests are in and out of the dance floor, catching up with colleagues and making the most of the evening. Having the Pod available all night meant people kept coming back, often with different groups each time.

How the Guests Got On

The energy on the night was brilliant. Military events like the 1 LANCS Summer Ball tend to bring together a real mix of people, from serving personnel and their families to civilian guests, and the Selfie Pod gave everyone a shared focal point. The prop box went down particularly well once the evening got into full swing.

The guest book filled up nicely too. It's always a lovely touch for the organising team to take away at the end of the night, full of printed photos and handwritten messages from the people who attended.
