Year 6 Leavers Party at The Aviary, Ormskirk | Magic Mirror Hire

Every Year 6 leavers event is special, but this one at The Aviary in Ormskirk really was something to remember. We were thrilled to be part of Ormskirk Church of England Primary School's end-of-year celebration, bringing our Magic Mirror along to help mark this huge milestone for the pupils heading off to secondary school.

The Venue: The Aviary, Ormskirk

The Aviary is a purpose-built event venue located just outside the historic market town of Ormskirk, set against beautiful open countryside. It's a Lancashire Wedding Barn venue that has been thoughtfully designed to feel both grand and welcoming, making it an excellent choice for everything from weddings to milestone celebrations like this one.

For a Year 6 leavers party, it offered plenty of space for the kids (and their families) to celebrate in style. The open, modern interior gave us a great spot to set up the Magic Mirror without needing a backdrop, which is one of the things we love about working in a well-designed venue like this.

Our Setup on the Night

We arrived ahead of the guests to get everything ready, and the full setup looked fantastic by the time the doors opened. Here's what we brought along for the evening:

  • Our Magic Mirror, complete with interactive on-screen prompts and animations
  • Red Carpet with Ropes and Silver Stanchions for a proper VIP arrival feel
  • A Fun Prop Box packed with hats, glasses, signs and more
  • Bespoke Print Design, created specifically for Ormskirk C of E's leavers event
  • Double Prints so every group could take a copy home
  • Unlimited Visits throughout the evening
  • A Download Link with high-quality digital copies for sharing
  • A friendly attendant on hand all night to keep things running smoothly

No backdrop was needed, which kept things looking clean and uncluttered in the venue space. The Magic Mirror accommodates four or more people at once, which was perfect for groups of excited Year 6s piling in together for their shots.

Why the Magic Mirror Works So Well for Leavers Events

Year 6 leavers parties are all about celebration and creating memories that last. The Magic Mirror is a brilliant fit for this kind of event because it's interactive, fun and produces a keepsake print that the children can take home and keep forever.

The bespoke print design meant every photo strip carried the Ormskirk C of E branding, making each print feel genuinely personal to the occasion rather than something generic. These are the little details that make a difference when you look back at a photo years later.

The red carpet and stanchions were a huge hit too. There's something about stepping onto a red carpet that makes everyone feel like a celebrity, and the kids absolutely loved it. It set the tone for a proper celebration right from the moment guests arrived.

A Night to Remember

The energy in The Aviary that evening was brilliant. Watching the Year 6 pupils come alive at the Magic Mirror, trying on props and pulling faces for the camera, was a joy. These children are heading off to the next big chapter of their lives, and we were genuinely proud to be part of the send-off.

A huge well done to everyone at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School for organising such a fantastic event, and congratulations to all the Year 6 leavers of 2026. You were an absolute pleasure to celebrate with.
