Year 6 Leavers Prom at AKS Lytham – Magic Mirror Hire Recap

What a night it was at AKS Lytham on 18th July 2025. We had the pleasure of providing our Magic Mirror for a Year 6 Leavers Prom, and it turned out to be a really special send-off for a group of pupils marking the end of a big chapter.

The Venue: AKS Lytham

AKS Lytham is a well-regarded independent school on the Fylde Coast, and it makes a superb backdrop for events like this. The school has character, a sense of occasion, and plenty of space to host an event that feels genuinely celebratory. For a Year 6 Leavers Prom, that atmosphere matters. The pupils deserved something that felt special, and AKS Lytham delivered.

The event ran from 5:30pm to 8pm, giving everyone a solid couple of hours to enjoy the evening before the big summer break officially began.

Our Setup: Magic Mirror with a Red Carpet Entrance

We set up our Magic Mirror alongside a full red carpet with ropes and silver stanchions. If you want to make Year 6 pupils feel like VIPs for the evening, that combination does exactly the job. Walking up to a Magic Mirror along a red carpet is the kind of moment that sticks with you.

The Magic Mirror is always a crowd-pleaser at school events. It's interactive, easy for groups to use, and it accommodates four or more people at once, so groups of friends could all get in on the fun together. Given that this was a leavers event, those group shots carried a little extra meaning.

The bespoke print design was a nice touch for this one. Rather than a generic template, the prints were created specifically for the event, giving the pupils something genuinely personal to take home as a keepsake from their last night as Year 6 pupils.

The Photos Speak for Themselves

We captured 85 photos across the evening, and you can see them all in the St Peter's Adults gallery on our website. It's a lovely collection of moments from a genuinely fun night. The smiles say it all.

The prop box went down brilliantly, as it always does with this age group. There's something about a good prop that gets everyone relaxed and laughing, and that's exactly the energy a leavers prom deserves.
